Our Vision

What We Offer

Through our food pantry serving Richland and Jasper Counties, our overstock food distribution program, and partnerships with ministries including Oblong Christian Children’s Home, SWAN in Olney, Addictions Solutions in Olney and Vincennes, and Wilderness Christian Camp in Indiana, and other compassionate ministries in the tri-sate area, we work daily to ensure that no family in our region goes without nourishment.

In addition to serving individuals directly, we supply food to other food pantries throughout Clay, Crawford, Edwards, Jasper, Lawrence, Wabash, and Richland Counties, as well as Nebo, Kentucky.

A particularly growing and impactful ministry of The Master’s Hands is our school backpack program. Each week, we provide weekend meals to students enrolled in the free and reduced lunch program so that children who depend on school meals do not go hungry when school is not in session.

Beyond human needs, we also distribute donated dog and cat food to families visiting our pantry, as well as to eight local area animal shelters. We understand that for many families in crisis, pets are beloved members of the household, and keeping animals fed prevents additional hardship and shelter overcrowding.

The Master's Hands is a Nonprofit 501(c)(3) faith-based compassionate ministry, which exists to provide food assistance and essential resources to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity in Richland County Illinois, throughout southeastern Illinois and neighboring Indiana and Kentucky communities.

Tuesday 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

If you are a family in need, please call and set up an appointment on Tuesday or Friday. Our phone number is 618-392-0414 (Olney office) or 618-783-2955 (Newton office). You may come in person to pick up an application or you may print off the application and return it completed to the appropriate office.

We are always in need of volunteers of all ages and abilities, there's a job for everyone. If you would like to help out, please call or stop by during the Second Blessings Thrift store between 10:00 am - 3:00 pm Monday - Friday.

Revenue from the Second Blessings Thrift Store helps to fund The Master's Hands ministry. We accept donations during store hours. Please only donate clean and workable items. We are unable to accept mattresses, children's car seats, old tv's, non-working computers, printers/fax machines/copies. Thank you for your generousity.

Other Opportunities

The Master's Hands provides many opportunities for spiritual growth and community fellowship. The east doors open 30 minutes before.

Join us at 4:00 pm for a non-denominational worship service.

Our coffee shop is open during food distribution times. Come enjoy free coffee, drinks, snacks, and internet. If you have prayer requests, individuals will also pray with you.
